The UAE wins 6 colorful medals at the World Muay Thai Championship in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, June 26 / WAM / The UAE Muaythai team won 6 colored medals (3 gold and 3 silver) at the conclusion of its participation in the World Muaythai Championship “Malaysia 2026”, topping the Arab and Asian rankings, and coming in fifth place globally.
This achievement embodies the continued development of the sport of Muay Thai in the UAE, following the distinguished technical levels presented by the team’s players during the championship competitions.
The national team player, Mohamed Mardi, shone, and was crowned the best player in the tournament for category (A), in addition to winning the gold medal in the 67 kg competition.
The gold medal was also won by Imad Youssef in the 86 kg category, and Ayoub Al-Bernoussi in the 67 kg category B, while silver medals were won by Muhammad Tawizi in the 54 kg category, Yassin Karimi in the 60 kg category, and Salama Al-Junaibi in the women’s under-24 competition in the category of over 75 kg category.
His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, Vice President of the International Muaythai Federation, President of the Asian and Arab Muaythai Federations, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Muaythai and Kickboxing Federation, confirmed that this achievement reflects the advanced position that the UAE Muaythai sport has reached at the continental and global levels, and the ability of the UAE champions to compete and achieve honorable results in the largest international tournaments.
He explained that the team topping the Arab and Asian rankings, in addition to coming fifth in the world, is the result of continuous efforts in preparing the national teams and developing the capabilities of the players, in a way that enhances the UAE’s presence on the podiums in various continental and international forums.
