المملكة: Across the Kingdom: 50,000 volunteer hours completed as part of an initiative "Cities of urban beauty"


The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced the conclusion of the initiative "Cities of urban beauty" After achieving its field and awareness goals, with the participation of 10,213 male and female volunteers, and implementing more than 50,000 volunteer hours in all regions of the Kingdom, within a national program that contributed to enhancing the culture of volunteerism, improving the urban landscape, and raising Quality of life.

The initiative witnessed the participation of male and female general education school students in field and awareness work targeting public facilities, municipal and school sites, which enhanced social responsibility among young people and contributed to consolidating the values ​​of preserving Community participation and supporting voluntary initiatives with a sustainable impact.

The initiative was implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing represented by the regional secretariats, and in partnership with the Saudi National Bank (SNB), while the Wather Architecture Company Limited implemented the initiative, in a model that reflects the integration of efforts between the municipal sector, the private sector and the educational sector, and enhances the role of national partnerships in supporting sustainable community development.

Paths and results of the initiative

The initiative was based on three main paths It included traffic safety, landscaping, and beautification, with the aim of contributing to improving the urban landscape and enhancing awareness of the importance of volunteer work and community participation among male and female students.

The initiative resulted in the implementation of more than 50,000 volunteer hours, with an average of five hours per participant, making it one of the largest student volunteer initiatives in the Kingdom in terms of the volume of participation, the breadth of the scope of implementation, and the societal impact.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing confirmed that the initiative embodies the importance of involving the educational community in efforts to improve cities and enhance the quality of life, This contributes to building more sustainable and interactive urban environments, and supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing volunteer work and enhancing community participation.
