Central Africa: Cholera outbreak after the death of (24) people

Today, the Central African Republic declared a cholera epidemic after recording 24 deaths related to it, in addition to 197 infections.
The Minister of Health of the Central African Republic, Pierre Somsi, confirmed that his country’s Ministry of Health announced an outbreak of cholera in the Bimbo and Mbaiki health districts located southwest of the capital, Bangui, indicating that measures had been taken to limit the spread of the disease in the affected areas and neighboring cities.
He explained that the government is fully mobilized to contain this outbreak, calling on residents to follow health guidelines and preventive measures.
