The Israeli army will remain in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza “until further notice”

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed on Wednesday that his forces will remain in the “security areas” in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza, without setting a timetable for withdrawal.

Katz said during a memorial ceremony for soldiers killed in the war with Lebanon in 2006, “The Israeli army will remain in the security areas in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza until further notice, in order to protect our residents and towns.”
Katz stressed, “We will not withdraw from the security areas.”

Katz warned Tehran again that it would be hit “with full force” if it attacked Israeli forces fighting in Lebanon.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Tuesday that his forces will remain in Lebanon as long as Hezbollah, which is supported by Iran, poses a threat to the residents of northern Israel.
