"Trends Global" He organizes three international conferences in Rome to promote research cooperation


Abu Dhabi, July 2, 2026 – Trends Global, a subsidiary of the Trends Group, is launching a strategic intellectual and research dialogue in the Italian capital, Rome, during the period from 5 to 11 July 2026. It includes three high-level international conferences, in addition to dialogues and agreements with Italian research institutions, in a step that embodies its commitment to expanding its global presence and consolidating its position as an international platform for knowledge dialogue and vision-making.
The events will be held at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to the Italian Republic, the Italian House of Representatives, and the Italian Senate, in cooperation with the Italian Milton Friedman Institute and the Italian AISES Foundation, and with the participation of an elite group of officials, parliamentarians, academics, researchers and experts from the UAE, Italy and a number of European countries.
The program witnesses six research visits to a number of intellectual and academic institutions, in addition to the signing of two memorandums of understanding between the TRENDS Center and the Italian Milton Friedman Institute and the Italian AISES Foundation. With the aim of expanding the horizons of research and knowledge cooperation, and developing joint projects in the fields of strategic studies, artificial intelligence, technology, and innovation, while the program is organized through the “Trends” virtual office in Italy.
The scientific program is based on three main strategic axes: geopolitical balances in the Middle East region, the repercussions of religious political currents in European societies, and the ethical and legislative dimensions associated with the development of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Lead researcher Awad Al-Bariki, Director General of Trends Global, confirmed that this research movement in the heart of the Italian capital represents an advanced stage in the path of Trends’ international intellectual partnerships, pointing out that holding the events at the UAE Embassy and the Italian Parliament in the Houses of Representatives and Senate embodies the growing status that think tanks have now enjoyed in supporting international dialogue and knowledge-based policy making.
He added that these events reflect Trends’ belief in the importance of building bridges of cooperation between research and academic institutions, which contributes to providing forward-looking visions and practical solutions to regional and global challenges, and enhances the role of scientific research in serving development and stability.
In the first leg, Trends Global is organizing an international symposium entitled “Crisis in the Middle East: Emirati and Italian Perspectives”, hosted by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Rome in cooperation with the Italian Center for International Studies (CeSI), to discuss regional developments and their implications for international security and stability.
In the second stop, the Salvadori Hall in the Italian House of Representatives will host a strategic conference entitled “The Implications of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Presence in Europe,” in partnership with the Italian Milton Friedman Institute, to discuss the political, social, and security impacts of the group in the European environment, and the challenges of integration and citizenship, and it will conclude with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two sides.
The program concludes with a high-level international conference in the Italian Senate (Giustiniani Palace – Zuccari Hall) entitled “Artificial Intelligence Governance and Ethics of Emerging Technologies”, in cooperation with the Italian AISES Foundation, and discusses opportunities for cooperation between Europe and the Gulf countries in developing balanced legislative frameworks for advanced technologies, and witnesses the signing of a memorandum of understanding to launch joint research cooperation paths.
