The National Academy of Child Development promotes field training and employment opportunities for its students


ABU DHABI, 3rd July, 2017 (WAM) – The National Academy for Childhood Development signed a memorandum of understanding with the GEMS Education Group, with the aim of providing field training and employment opportunities for the academy’s students and graduates, in a step that reflects the commitment of both sides to supporting national competencies and aligning educational outcomes with the needs of the labor market.
The memorandum constitutes the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership that includes cooperation in the fields of training and employment, in addition to implementing joint initiatives, projects and community awareness programs, which contribute to supporting the childhood development sector and promoting Emirati values and local culture among emerging generations.
This cooperation comes within the framework of the academy’s efforts to build an integrated system for preparing caregivers, as the memorandum stipulates the provision of 50 field training opportunities for students of the National Academy for Childhood Development through the GEMS Education network of schools, which contributes to enhancing their professional readiness and enabling them to gain practical experiences.
The GEMS Education network also gives academy graduates priority to consider the career opportunities available at it, in accordance with their qualifications and available vacancies.
Cooperation includes organizing community events, specialized workshops and seminars, in addition to exchanging experiences and learning about best practices and policies related to childhood development, in a way that enhances the impact of both sides in this vital field.
Her Excellency Dr. Mira Al Kaabi, Acting President of the National Academy for Childhood Development, said that the partnership with GEMS Education Group embodies the ongoing commitment to preparing caregivers through qualitative educational and training paths, and enabling them to gain practical experiences that qualify them to engage in the labor market and contribute effectively to supporting children’s growth and prosperity.
She added that the Academy believes that building national competencies requires integrating roles between various stakeholders, expressing the aspiration through this partnership to achieve a positive and sustainable impact that is reflected in children, families and society.
For his part, Dino Varkey, CEO of GEMS Education Group, said that the partnership with the National Academy for Child Development embodies the shared vision of strengthening the foundations of early childhood development and preparing a new generation of educators and specialists in the field of child development.
