The evening, which was moderated by media personality Hend Khalifat, was presented by His Excellency Counselor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary-General of the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity, who highlighted the book “The Imam, the Pope, and the Difficult Path” and “The Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Coexistence.”
Abdul Salam reviewed the stages of preparation for the historical document and the consultations and dialogues that took place over the years between religious and intellectual leaders, which culminated in its announcement from the capital, Abu Dhabi, on February 4, 2019, to become a global reference for consolidating the values of coexistence, brotherhood, and peace.
Advisor Dr. Muhammad Abdel Salam stressed that the exceptional success of the document represents the fruit of the civilizational vision of the United Arab Emirates and its firm belief that tolerance, dialogue and respect for diversity are the basic pillars for building a more stable future for humanity. He explained that the wise leadership of the UAE embraced this huge humanitarian project and provided a supportive environment for it to be launched from Abu Dhabi to the entire world, which consolidates the country’s position as a global capital for tolerance and coexistence, and a comprehensive platform for peacemakers.

He concluded by pointing out that building people is the true gateway to the renaissance of societies, indicating that awareness and trust are the basic foundations for creating the future, and that developing new generations’ awareness of their identity and authentic values is an imperative necessity to enable them to interact positively with the world and contribute effectively to building their countries.
