Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Center organizes an event to promote environmental sustainability and raise community awareness


Al Ain, 5 July / WAM / The Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Center, in cooperation with the Zayed Central Library in Al Ain, organized a comprehensive environmental event on the occasion of World Environment Day, in implementation of the directives of Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, to enhance environmental awareness and consolidate concepts of sustainability among various segments of society.
The Shamma Bint Muhammad Environmental Education Program presented a variety of workshops that focused on the importance of waste sorting as one of the effective solutions to reduce environmental pollution, in addition to educating participants about recycling mechanisms and their role in preserving natural resources and reducing the environmental footprint.
The event also included educational activities and competitions designed in an innovative manner that combines entertainment and knowledge, which contributed to enhancing the interaction of attendees, especially children and adolescents, and instilling positive environmental behaviors in them in a simple and attractive way.
One of the most prominent stations of the event was the “Design your image in nature” workshop, which gave participants the opportunity to express their personal vision of their relationship with the environment through artistic and creative works that combined the aesthetic sense with awareness messages, and contributed to enhancing their awareness of the importance of preserving nature and environmental balance.
