“Abu Dhabi Municipalities” explains the meaning of “cropped ears” for stray cats

The Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi explained that seeing a cat with a cropped ear in the streets and areas of the emirate is a direct indication that it has received special care and undergone an integrated health program.
The department indicated that this mark confirms that the cat is subject to the “control, sterilization, vaccination, microchip installation, and return” program, known as (TNVMR), which aims to care for stray cats in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
She added that this program contributes effectively to improving the health of animals, reducing their reproduction, in addition to enhancing the balance between humans and animals.

She confirmed in an explanatory video that she broadcast on her account on the “X” platform that the small clip that is placed on the cat’s left ear shows that it has completed the sterilization and vaccination process, and it does not cause any harm to it.
The Department of Municipalities and Transport confirmed that each clipped ear of a stray cat represents the result of joint efforts to maintain a safer and more harmonious environment for all residents, while ensuring that stray cat care is provided in a humane and sustainable manner.
