Two national tankers were targeted by two Iranian missiles in Omani territorial waters

The Ministry of Defense announced that the two national tankers (Mumbasa) and (Al Bahia) were targeted by two Iranian cruise missiles in the southern corridor of the Strait of Hormuz in Omani territorial waters.
According to a statement by the Ministry on the “X” platform, the targeting resulted in the killing of an Indian crew member of the tanker (Mumbasa), and the injury of 8, including 4 seriously. (6 of Indian nationality, and 2 of Ukrainian nationality).
The targeting also resulted in material damage to the two tankers as a result of the fire that broke out in them, and the fire in the two tankers was brought under control.
The Ministry of Defense condemned this blatant attack, which represents a serious violation and a clear violation of international law and threatens the security and stability of the region, stressing that the state reserves its full right to respond to this escalation and take all necessary measures to protect its lands, people and residents, in a way that ensures the preservation of its sovereignty, security and stability and protects its national interests and capabilities.
The Ministry expressed that it is fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats, and that it is taking all necessary measures to firmly confront everything that aims to destabilize the security and stability of the state.
The Ministry called on the public to obtain information from official sources in the country, and to avoid circulating rumors or unreliable information.
