The Philippine Senate praises the UAE’s humanitarian aid to the victims of the Mindanao earthquake

Federal National Council Speaker Saqr Ghobash received a cable of thanks and appreciation from the President of the Senate of the Republic of the Philippines, Sherwin T. Gatchalian, in which he expressed the deep gratitude of the government and people of the Philippines to the UAE for the urgent humanitarian aid it provided to those affected by the earthquake that struck the Mindanao region.
The President of the Philippine Senate confirmed in his telegram that the UAE aid came at a very important time and contributed to alleviating the suffering of the affected families, noting that what the UAE provided was not limited to providing food and drinking water, but rather embodied the values of solidarity and compassion, and contributed to restoring hope to those affected, reflecting the depth of bilateral relations and the mutual respect and common humanitarian commitment on which they are based.
In a related context, the President of the Philippine Senate renewed the Council’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation with the Federal National Council through parliamentary friendship groups and joint parliamentary organizations, thus contributing to consolidating relations between the two countries, which extend for more than five decades of friendship and cooperation.
