Emirates Airlines achieves a historic achievement by modernizing and refurbishing 100 aircraft within 44 months
Dubai, July 14 / WAM / Emirates Airlines has achieved a historic achievement by successfully completing comprehensive modernization and refurbishment operations for 100 aircraft as part of its huge fleet modernization program, which is the largest known program implemented by an airline in the world.
Since the start of work on the program in November 2022, Emirates has been able to complete comprehensive modernization operations for 47 Airbus A380 aircraft and 53 Boeing 777 aircraft in the hangars of the Emirates Airline Engineering Center in Dubai.
About 20 additional aircraft are scheduled to be modernized by the end of December 2026, which means the completion of more than half of the program for which the carrier has allocated investments worth $5 billion, with the aim of providing the best products and services and providing a constantly distinguished travel experience for its passengers.

He added that implementing a project of this size and complexity internally in Dubai required careful planning processes, high craftsmanship skills and unparalleled technical capabilities. Over a period of 44 months, a team from the Emirates Airline Engineering Center, which includes more than 400 engineers and technicians, worked a total of 4.4 million working hours to modernize 100 aircraft, including performing advanced modernization and upgrade operations for all aircraft cabins, and equipping them with a new Premium Economy Class cabin. More than 3,800 new seats were installed in the Premium Economy Class cabins in the updated aircraft, which contributes to accelerating the provision of this class, which is very popular with travelers for more. Since the start of the project implementation in November 2022, the Emirates Engineering Center team has modernized an average of 28 aircraft annually.
The modernization operations required complex engineering and technical operations, including completely dismantling the aircraft’s interior parts, carrying out a comprehensive renovation of all cabins using more than 4,000 parts for the A380 and more than 2,500 parts for the Boeing 777, and reassembling all internal parts and components with extreme precision.
