A pivotal role
The Authority continued that the contracting sector provides about 3.9 million job opportunities, including more than 513 thousand citizens, equivalent to a Saudization rate of about 15%, which reflects its pivotal role in supporting the labor market and achieving Localization targets within Kingdom’s Vision 2030 This came on the sidelines of the Real Estate and Contracting Week hosted by the Facilities Support Center in Jeddah
While the workshop introducing the services of the Saudi Contractors Authority indicated the most prominent services, the project platform, which represents a link between project owners and contractors, in addition to model contracts, and the Mimar service, in addition to the Irtiqaa portal, which is one of the most important current initiatives of the Authority, as it aims to provide quality opportunities for contractors and enable them to access major projects in The Kingdom.
Qualification requirements
The Authority confirmed that the “Ertiqaa” portal relies on an integrated system of standards and requirements, which begins with registering the contractor in the Authority and entering the contractor platform, then completing the qualification requirements, followed by reviewing the application by the Authority, and upon approval, the contractor becomes qualified and certified, so that his data is shared with the major project owners in the Kingdom.
The workshop pointed out that The Saudi Contractors Authority Academy provides a variety of courses and training programs that are offered on a monthly basis through the “Maqam” platform, allowing beneficiaries to register in programs that suit their professional needs, indicating that the academy covers multiple specializations related to contracting work and project management.
