Spanish star Lamine Jamal sparked widespread interaction among football fans, after he celebrated in a sarcastic way his country’s qualification to the 2026 World Cup final, following the elimination of the French team from the semi-finals.

Lamine Jamal posted a video clip on his account on the TikTok platform after the victory, during which he appeared pointing to the Spanish national team logo on his shirt, before lowering his hat to cover his eyes, in a shot that spread widely across social networking sites.

The player accompanied the video with the phrase: “Spain to the final… pardon, pardon,” using the French word that means “Sorry, sorry,” in a sarcastic reference to the French team that exited the tournament at the hands of “La Roja” in the semi-finals.
