" balance " and"Yotak" The French sign a letter of intent to discuss cooperation in testing and certifying vehicles in the Emirates

ABU DHABI, 16 JULY / WAM / The Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council – “Tawazun” and the French company UTAC, which specializes in vehicle testing, performance verification and certification, signed a letter of intent to discuss opportunities for joint cooperation and study the possibility of establishing a commercial presence for the company in the UAE.
The letter of intent was signed by His Excellency Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council, and Conor McCormack, CEO of UTAC Group.
The letter of intent aims to evaluate potential cooperation opportunities in the areas of vehicle testing, performance verification, approval and approval, in addition to research and development and related mobility services, in a way that supports the development of an advanced and integrated system of vehicle testing services in the UAE.
Pursuant to the letter of intent, the two sides will work to exchange experiences and information related to their capabilities and strategic goals, and study the size of demand and opportunities available in the market for advanced vehicle testing services in the UAE and countries of the region, as well as exploring prospects for cooperation with national authorities in future projects.
The letter of intent also stipulates that the two sides will study the possibility of establishing a specialized center for vehicle testing in the UAE, which will contribute to supporting the requirements of the defense, security and industrial sectors, and enhancing the country’s capabilities in the areas of testing, verification and accreditation, in accordance with the best international standards and practices.
Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al Kaabi, CEO of Tawazun Quality and Conformity Company, said on this occasion that the signing of the letter of intent reflects the Council’s commitment to developing national capabilities and supporting the building of an advanced and globally competitive system in the defense and security sectors, pointing out that cooperation with UTAC will allow evaluating opportunities related to transferring knowledge, developing specialized capabilities, and enhancing vehicle testing services, verifying their performance, and certifying them in the UAE.
He added that developing an advanced testing infrastructure supports the requirements of national authorities and industrial partners, and contributes to consolidating the UAE’s position as a global destination for specialized technology, research and industrial development.
For his part, Connor McCormack said that the signing of the letter of intent reflects a shared vision to develop an advanced system for testing, verifying conformity and certifying vehicles in the UAE and the region.
He added that the UTAC Group has specialized technical expertise and a proven track record in implementing projects and expanding in global markets, which allows it to contribute to supporting innovation, raising safety standards, and enhancing industrial capabilities in the region.
This step comes within the framework of the efforts of the Tawazun Council for Defense Empowerment aimed at developing advanced national capabilities, enhancing the competitiveness of the defense and security industries, and attracting expertise and specialized international companies, in a way that supports the transfer of knowledge, localization of technologies, and building a sustainable national industrial system.
