Cooperation between "Ajman transportation" and"Emirates Autism Center" To operate a sensory taxi

Ajman, 16 July / WAM / The Ajman Transport Authority signed a cooperation agreement with the Emirates Autism Society, with the aim of equipping and operating a sensory taxi vehicle dedicated to serving people with autism spectrum disorder, as part of the authority’s efforts to enhance the quality of life, provide innovative transportation services that suit the needs of people of determination, and develop a comprehensive transportation system that meets the needs of all segments of society.
The signing of the agreement was attended by His Excellency Omar Mohammed Lootah, Director General of the Ajman Transport Authority, Fatima Saif Al Matrooshi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Autism Society, and Engineer Amal Salem Al Karbi, Director General of the Emirates Autism Society.
The agreement aims to consolidate cooperation between the two parties and define joint work frameworks and responsibilities, in a way that contributes to serving the community and supporting comprehensive development in areas of common interest, and benefiting from the specialized expertise possessed by the Emirates Autism Society in the field of dealing with people with autism spectrum disorder, in a way that supports the Authority’s efforts in providing a safe, comfortable and appropriate transportation service to the needs of this group.
Under the agreement, the Ajman Transport Authority will provide, equip and operate the vehicle, including installing the fare meter, cameras and stickers, and implementing all necessary operational equipment, in accordance with the technical recommendations provided by the association, in addition to involving the association in the stages of reviewing and evaluating the equipment to ensure its compatibility with the needs of the beneficiaries, and providing the necessary operational personnel to provide the service efficiently and with high quality.
In turn, the Emirates Autism Society is responsible for providing technical and specialized consultations related to the design and equipment of the sensory vehicle, and providing the authority with standards and guidelines for appropriate sensory tools and means, in order to achieve a safe and comfortable transportation environment for people with autism spectrum disorder.
The association contributes to preparing and providing training and guidance programs for employees and drivers, with the aim of raising the level of awareness and skills necessary to optimally deal with this category, in a way that enhances the quality of service and provides a more comprehensive transportation experience appropriate to their needs.
The agreement embodies the keenness of both sides to unify efforts and strengthen community partnership, in a way that supports the development of inclusive transportation services, and keeps pace with the UAE’s trends in empowering people of determination, and providing innovative services that contribute to improving their quality of life and enhancing their integration into society.
