"Sharjah International Publishers Conference" It opens its doors to bookmakers around the world in November 2026

Sharjah, July 16 / WAM / The “Sharjah International Publishers Conference” returns with a new session organized by the Sharjah Book Authority from 1 to 3 November 2026, at the Expo Center Sharjah, ahead of the launch of the 45th session of the Sharjah International Book Fair on November 4, bringing together publishers, literary agents and experts within a professional program that includes training, bilateral business meetings, and a translation grant worth $300,000, in addition to the “Publishers Honor Award,” where it was announced. The Authority is open for registration until August 25th.

His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakad Al Ameri, CEO of the Authority, said: Sharjah, with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority, continues to invest in building an integrated knowledge system that enhances the presence of writers and supports the publishing industry as a basic pillar in cultural development and creating the future. The Publishers’ Conference comes within this trend as a platform that brings together experiences, opportunities and partnerships under one roof.

He added: Today, the publishing industry is gaining increasing importance as one of the pillars that shape the knowledge movement and support cultural and economic development in societies. With the expansion of the flow of content and the multiplicity of channels for accessing it, the need arises to develop more effective models for producing knowledge, disseminating it, and communicating it to new readers.

Mansour Al-Hassani, Director of the Publishers Services Department at the Sharjah Book Authority, said: The Sharjah International Publishers Conference brings together experiences, markets and decision-makers in one platform that allows participants to build new cooperation networks and explore broader horizons for growth and international expansion.

He added: We seek for the conference agenda for this year’s session to contribute to enhancing the professional readiness of publishing industries in the world, as it includes direct meetings to negotiate the sale and purchase of rights in a way that enhances the access of writers from all languages ​​and cultures to new languages, markets, and readers. Therefore, the Authority measures the success of the conference by the implementable steps the publisher comes up with and what these steps open to a broader presence of Arabic content, and greater access to the world’s literature and knowledge.

The Sharjah Book Authority called on publishers, literary agents and specialists wishing to participate to complete registration via the conference website no later than August 25, 2026, and those accepted will be informed that their participation has been approved on September 11, 2026.

The conference program includes 30 specialized professional workshops designed to provide publishers and literary agents with the latest knowledge and skills witnessed by the global publishing industry. The workshops cover a wide range of topics, including applications of artificial intelligence in publishing and audio publishing, copyright management and licensing, strategies for entering international markets, institutional leadership and strategic innovation, in addition to professional and technical issues that contribute to enhancing the readiness of participants to keep pace with the rapid transformations in the sector and expanding opportunities for growth and cooperation at the global level.
