ABU DHABI, 17 JULY / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, confirmed that “Union Era Day” represents a historic milestone in the UAE’s journey, embodying the depth of the wise vision of the Founding Fathers, who established the basic charter for building a state based on unity, cohesion, and authentic national identity.

His Excellency said in a statement on the occasion of “Union Era Day”: “This occasion represents a renewed opportunity to enhance national awareness of the value of the Union and the deep-rooted meanings it carries related to unity, cohesion and solidarity among the people of the nation… and it reminds us of the shared responsibility placed on all of us to preserve the gains that have been achieved over the past decades, and to continue building on the exceptional legacy left by the Founding Fathers.”

He added: “We believe that preserving the national heritage and documenting our historical milestones represents an essential part of our responsibility towards society, based on the role of culture in consolidating belonging and enhancing awareness of the values ​​on which the Union is based. From this standpoint, we continue to develop cultural initiatives and programs that contribute to highlighting the country’s history and cultural achievements, and support the presence of national identity in the conscience of members of society.”

His Excellency stressed that the UAE has succeeded in building a unique national model that combines pride in cultural heritage, authentic values, openness to the world, and anticipating the future, noting that culture plays a pivotal role in preserving national memory and transmitting stories of founding and achievement to future generations, which strengthens their connection to the history of their homeland and opens up to them the horizons of contributing to its future.
