Two Arab countries are competing to host the Spanish Super Cup

The Egyptian Football Association entered the race to host the Spanish Super Cup for the 2025-2026 season, along with Qatar, America, China and Mexico, after Saudi Arabia was excluded from organizing the next edition due to its hosting of the Asian Cup during the same period.
The Spanish newspaper “Marca” reported that the Spanish Federation has not yet decided on the host country, as it has received several official offers, including the Egyptian offer, while Egyptian Federation officials continue their contacts with their counterparts in Spain to discuss the possibility of holding the tournament in Cairo, based on the great popularity of Spanish football in Egypt.
The newspaper pointed out that “Qatar remains among the candidates, but its hosting is still undecided in light of the current regional circumstances.”
The Spanish Federation is expected to announce the host country before the end of September, and the tournament will be held in January or February next year, with the participation of four clubs: Barcelona, the league champion, Real Madrid, the league runner-up, Real Sociedad, the King’s Cup champion, and Atletico Madrid, the cup runner-up. Barcelona will meet Atletico Madrid, while Real Madrid will face Real Sociedad in the semi-finals.
