The Egyptian artist confirmed Ahmed Al-Saqqa, in his speech to “Al-Youm” on the sidelines of the special screening of the film “Take Care of Yourself” in Jeddah, that The film industry has an influence that goes beyond Entertainment, describing it as one of the most powerful tools for shaping awareness and creating memory.
He pointed out that many of the moments that brought him together with the work team, artists, and guests of honor during the film will remain among the most beautiful memories in his artistic career.
Al-Saqqa explained that he is always keen to choose the roles that he loves and feels able to embody honestly, stressing that his goal is not limited to satisfying his passion as an actor, but rather extends to presenting works that enrich Arab cinema and add It has real artistic value.
History of Egyptian Cinema
He reviewed the history of Egyptian cinema, indicating that during the 1950s and 1960s it was one of the sources of national income in Egypt. He also touched on the beginnings of the seventh art with the Lumiere brothers in France, before the film industry moved to Egypt, which was one of the first countries in the region to embrace this art, starting with Alexandria and silent films.
He said that cinema is not just a means of entertainment, but rather a soft force capable of shaping awareness. Peoples and the creation of their history, adding that countries that do not have a long history have been able, through cinema, to create a history and a global presence for themselves, which reflects the extent of the influence that this industry has.
He pointed out that Arab and Islamic history is full of heroics, conquests and inspiring personalities, stressing that this legacy represents rich content that deserves to be transformed into major cinematic works that introduce the world to Arab and Islamic civilization and its historical symbols.
Al-Saqqa expressed his wish to present huge historical works during his career, pointing out that he aspires to embody prominent historical figures in works of the size and value of immortal films such as “The Message” and “Omar Al-Mukhtar”, due to their great cultural and humanitarian impact.
Councilor Turki Al-Sheikh
Al-Saqqa praised the role played by His Excellency Councilor Turki Al-Sheikh in supporting the Arab film industry, describing him as one of the best investors in this sector, and said that he has a vision. He is open to the world, and leads great efforts that deserve appreciation, adding that he is considered a brother and friend, and has smart investment thinking that contributed to supporting and developing the Arab film industry.
At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Saqqa extended a special greeting to the Saudi audience, and to the Jeddah audience in particular, expressing his happiness to be among them during the special screening of the film, and stressing that his participation in “Take Care of Yourself” represents a new challenge in his career, and he hopes that the work will be admired by the audience.
He added that he has friendly relations with many Saudis, and that the Kingdom is not a stranger to him, as he had previously visited a number of its cities, and traveled between them by land by car, which allowed him to get to know closely the nature of the Kingdom and its people, stressing that his visit to the Kingdom always brings him beautiful memories and a special feeling.
