The name of the Tunisian artist, Hend Sabry, emerged among the most prominent guests of the Amman International Film Festival – the first film of the year 2026. Due to her great artistic value, her wide fame throughout the Arab world, and her experience extending for more than thirty years in cinema and television, Hend Sabry caught the attention several days before the opening of the “festival” activities, and even before her arrival in Jordan, especially since she is participating for the first time in its activities, and her presence is a qualitative addition to it, and an affirmation of its status. The large number that the “festival” has become at the regional level.

In the details obtained by Zahrat Al Khaleej, the presence of Hend Sabry will never be formal, but rather will be major, active and influential in all the details, and her presence in Jordan will be enriched throughout the days of the “festival”, as she will transfer a large part of her accumulated experiences to its participants, including filmmakers, actors, directors, producers and a loving audience.

Hend Sabry participates as a member of the jury for the “Black Iris Award for Best Arab Feature Film,” which is considered the most important of the festival’s awards at all, and through which top talents are highlighted, provided that the submitted work is the first or second feature film by its director, and that it is the first writing experience of its author, and the first major starring role for its hero or heroine.

In addition to Hend Sabry, the committee also includes: Jordanian Arab musician Tariq Al-Nasser, Lebanese director Joanna Haji Touma, and Egyptian-British director and activist Khaled Abdullah, who gained great international fame through his appearance in a number of international works, the most prominent of which was the role he played in the famous series “The Crown.”

The twenty-ninth of July will be a special day in all its details, as the Amman International Film Festival – First Film announced the organization of a dialogue session with the star Hend Sabry, entitled “A Rich Journey in Arab Cinema,” during which Sabri talks about her experience, which she began at the age of 14, and culminated in nearly fifty diverse works between cinema and television.

In this interview, the Tunisian artist will talk about her beginnings in Tunisian cinema, then her move to Egypt, and the path she took that led her to become one of the most important actresses in the Arab world.

Sabry will also explain, in this meeting that brings her together with all her fans, her standards; To choose the roles and characters that she presents, the ways in which she was able to develop her acting tools, and how she was able to this day to maintain her position and fame, despite the great transformations that the world has witnessed, which caused the decline of the star of a large number of actors.

It is noteworthy that Hend Sabry began her artistic career through her appearance in the movie “The Silence of Palaces,” and after that she continued to rise through her starring in a number of the most important and successful Arab films, including: “Teenage Diaries,” “Downtown Girls,” “The Island,” “Kira Wal Jin,” and “The Blue Elephant 2.”

The documentary film “Daughters of Olfa” is her latest and most successful cinematic work, as it was nominated for an Oscar in 2024, and it is the only Arab film that participated in the official competition of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, and competed in the “Palme d’Or” at that session.
