In record time… Dubai Municipality employs artificial intelligence to examine household water quality

Dubai Municipality announced a qualitative leap in developing the mechanisms of the domestic water safety and quality inspection system, by relying on advanced artificial intelligence techniques for early and accurate detection of bacterial contamination, such as: Legionella and E. coli, in a pioneering step that consolidates the emirate’s position as a leading global center in laboratory testing and calibration.

The service comes as an affirmation of Dubai Municipality’s continued commitment to developing its laboratory services, providing a protective shield that strengthens the public health system, and provides proactive protection for the emirate’s community.

This developed service represents a qualitative leap in laboratory control mechanisms, as its scope expands to cover the examination of various sources of consumer and recreational water in homes and facilities, starting from tank and tap water, all the way to swimming pools and unbottled drinking water. Thanks to this comprehensiveness, the service ensures the containment of any causes of water pollution, which contributes directly to the prevention of diseases, and enhances society’s confidence in the safety of its living environment.

In terms of operational efficiency, advanced technologies will contribute to reducing the time of laboratory tests, as it has become possible to issue test results for Legionella and E. coli bacteria in a record time, compared to traditional methods.
