The National Archives and Library continue to receive visitors to the exhibition "Union era day"
ABU DHABI, 21st July / WAM / The National Archives and Library continued to receive visitors to the “Union Era Day” exhibition, which it organizes at its headquarters, to celebrate this national occasion, and which includes a group of rare historical photos and documents that document the critical stages in the process of establishing the United Arab Emirates, starting with the historical meetings held by the rulers of the Emirates to discuss the union project, through the signing of the document of union and the state constitution on July 18, 1971, all the way to the declaration of the establishment of the state on December 2 of the same year and the lifting of UAE flag.
The exhibition, which comes as part of a series of exhibitions organized by the National Archives and the National Library to highlight national memory and introduce the pivotal stations in the history of the UAE, includes rare photos documenting the meetings of the Council of Rulers of the Emirates in July 1971, which paved the way for the announcement of the union, along with photos of the announcement of the statement of the union, and group photos of the rulers of the Emirates after the announcement of the establishment of the state, providing visitors with an integrated visual narrative documenting the most important stations witnessed in the journey of establishing the union, and highlighting the spirit of consultation and consensus that brought together the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and his fellow rulers, which laid the foundations of a federal state that became a model of unity, development and stability.
