The dollar and yen stabilized near their lowest levels in 40 years

Capitals, July 23 / WAM / The exchange rate of the US dollar stabilized in trading today, Thursday, amid the impact of rising oil prices on inflation expectations.

The dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, settled at 101.11 points.

In the currency markets, the euro rose 0.02% to $1.1412, while the Australian dollar fell 0.1% to $0.6989, and the New Zealand dollar fell in the same proportion to $0.5811, while the British pound recorded $1.3373.

In Japan, the yen rose 0.02% to 163.1 yen against the dollar, remaining close to its lowest levels in about 40 years.
