"Louvre Abu Dhabi Summer" Interactive cultural experiences that combine art and imagination

Abu Dhabi, July 23 / WAM / During the summer of 2026, the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum will continue to consolidate its position as a leading cultural and educational destination, through an integrated summer program that combines art, entertainment and learning, and presents a series of interactive experiences targeting children, families and all members of society, within the framework of the museum’s vision aimed at making culture closer and more inspiring to various groups.

The program, which extends throughout the months of July and August, is full of various activities, including summer camps, guided tours, workshops, cinematic performances, and digital experiences, in addition to a new exhibition for the Children’s Museum, allowing visitors to explore art and history through practical experiences that combine creativity and knowledge.

The program is headlined by the new children’s exhibition “The Adventure of Board Games,” which opens a window on the history of games as a common human language that has transcended borders and cultures over the centuries. The exhibition presents an interactive journey that showcases the development of famous games such as chess, Ludo, carrom and mancala, based on collectibles from the Louvre Abu Dhabi collection and artifacts loaned from international museums, in an experience that encourages children and families to learn together away from digital screens.

Based on this exhibition, the museum is organizing a summer camp bearing the same name, which allows children to design their own games and learn about games belonging to different civilizations and cultures, in an experience that combines innovation, teamwork, and critical thinking.

Louvre Abu Dhabi also participates in the “Our Story” summer camp in the Saadiyat Cultural District, which connects three museums: Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Natural History Museum, and Zayed National Museum, so that participants go on an educational journey that explores nature, history, arts, and innovation within a unified program that reflects the cultural integration witnessed in the region.

This summer, the museum is adding a new event titled “Art and Film” in its family version, which displays international films inspired by themes and works of art within the museum’s collection, in an initiative that uses cinema as a means of promoting cultural dialogue and consolidating common human values.

The program is not limited to children, as the museum offers a series of guided tours that showcase its most prominent collections and recent discoveries, in addition to storytelling tours that transform works of art into live, interactive stories suitable for families and young visitors.

One of the most prominent experiences offered by the museum this season is the “Smells of Arts” experience, which combines art and perfumes, where visitors discover works of art through scents specially designed to reflect their content, in an innovative sensory experience that expands the concept of interaction with museums.

Louvre Abu Dhabi continues to offer drawing workshops for adults, free art activities for families on weekends, as well as digital experiences such as the “Secret of the Dome Stars” game for children, and the “Time Dome Project” group virtual reality experience, which takes participants on a journey through different historical civilizations using the latest technologies.

The summer program reflects Louvre Abu Dhabi’s vision of transforming the museum into a vibrant space that is not limited to displaying works of art, but rather allows visitors to participate, experience and discover, thus enhancing society’s connection to culture, making art a part of daily life, and confirming the museum’s role in supporting learning and creativity and consolidating dialogue between civilizations.
