"Ajman Finance" Launch camp "Abacus Challenge" within "Our summer is happiness 2026"
Ajman, 23 July / WAM / The Department of Finance in Ajman launched the activities of the “Abacus Challenge” camp at the Ajman Youth Center, as part of its participation in the “Our Summer of Happiness 2026” program, as part of its efforts aimed at investing the summer vacation in providing quality educational programs that contribute to the development of students’ mental and mathematical skills, and enhance their readiness for the future, in line with the objectives of Ajman Vision 2030, which places investment in people and capital development. Humanity is at the top of its priorities
The “Abacus Challenge” camp is an interactive educational experience based on the use of the Japanese abacus (Abacus), as one of the educational methods that contribute to the development of mental arithmetic skills, as participants are trained to perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately by visualizing the movement of beads mentally, which enhances the speed of intuition, develops logical thinking, strengthens visual memory, and raises levels of concentration through a series of applied activities and challenges that combine learning and fun.
His Excellency Marwan Ahmed Al Ali, Director General of the Department of Finance in Ajman, stressed that the department’s participation in the “Our Summer of Happiness 2026” program embodies its commitment to its societal role in addition to its corporate responsibility, by supporting initiatives that contribute to developing the capabilities of emerging generations, and establishing a culture of continuous learning in line with the directions of the Ajman government and the Ajman Vision 2030 in investing in people as the basic pillar of sustainable development.
For his part, Walid Al Zarouni, Director of the Support Services Department at the Department of Finance in Ajman, said that organizing the “Abacus Challenge” camp comes from the department’s keenness to provide quality programs that invest summer vacation in developing the capabilities of children and adolescents, pointing out the department’s keenness to choose a program that provides real knowledge value to the participants that contributes to preparing a generation that possesses these skills that represent an investment in the future, and is in line with the goals of the Ajman 2030 Vision.
For his part, Raafat Ahmed Saeed, trainer of the “Abacus Challenge” camp, explained that regular practice of Abacus skills contributes to improving academic performance and enhances the child’s ability to learn and think more efficiently.
For their part, a number of parents of students participating in the program confirmed that summer vacation represents a real opportunity to develop their children’s skills outside the classroom, pointing out that purposeful educational programs contribute to investing their time and giving them skills they need in their educational and life path, and that the role of the family is integrated with these programs through continuous follow-up and encouragement.
They added that quality summer programs have become an important extension of the educational process, because of the stimulating environments they provide that help children discover their abilities and develop their skills in a practical way, away from traditional methods.
For her part, the child Alia Mubarak expressed her happiness in participating in the program, stressing that she learned new ways to perform calculations using Abacus more quickly, and enjoyed the challenges and applied activities that strengthened her focus and self-confidence.
