"Abu Dhabi Judiciary" Date production at repair centers will be displayed at the Liwa Festival 2026

ABU DHABI, 23rd July, 2017 (WAM) – The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department is participating in the twenty-second session of the Liwa Dates Festival 2026, through a special pavilion that displays the date products of the agricultural correctional and rehabilitation centres, in addition to a range of craft and artistic works, handicrafts, and heritage artifacts, during the activities held under the slogan “Hayakum to Liwa Dates” in the city of Liwa in the Al Dhafra region during the period from 14 to 23 July of this month.
The department’s participation in the festival embodies its keenness to enhance its presence in national, community and heritage events, and to highlight the efforts of correctional and rehabilitation centers in employing the energies of inmates, developing their productive and craftsmanship skills, and providing the opportunity to display their products in forums that celebrate the Emirati identity and national heritage.
The department’s pavilion includes varieties of dates produced on the farms of correctional and rehabilitation centres, in addition to handicrafts, craft and artistic works, and heritage artifacts completed by inmates within the training and rehabilitation programmes, which reflects the success of these programs in developing their professional skills and enabling them to gain practical experiences that enhance their positive integration into society after the end of their sentence, so that they return as good and productive individuals.
The department’s pavilion also allows visitors to view a group of legal and legislative publications, which include specialized books, studies, and legal research, covering various topics in the judicial and legislative fields, which contributes to disseminating knowledge and enhancing legal culture among various segments of society.
The Judicial Department’s participation in the festival highlights its efforts to develop the agricultural and craft production system within correctional and rehabilitation centres, and to preserve traditional industries and authentic Emirati heritage, in line with the cultural identity of the UAE, and reflects its approach to supporting rehabilitation and empowerment programs and promoting the values of work, production and social responsibility.
