"I command you" and"Airbus Defense and Space" They collaborate to develop military aircraft maintenance and support solutions

FARNBOROUGH, July 23, 2017 (WAM) – The Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Center (AMRC) signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus Defense and Space, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of aircraft and air and defense systems, to explore the prospects for strategic cooperation aimed at developing and enhancing the capabilities of maintaining, supporting and sustaining military aircraft in the UAE and the region, during the participation of both sides in the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 in the United Kingdom.

The memorandum is based on the advanced expertise possessed by both parties, as AMMROC has a well-established record in providing heavy aircraft maintenance services, airframe services, component support, and military fleet sustainment solutions, paving the way for expanding areas of technical and industrial cooperation between the two sides.

The memorandum aims to explore opportunities to develop Airbus-certified MRO capabilities to support regional operators, as well as enhance continuous support solutions for Airbus military platforms, including the C295 and A330 MRTT aircraft.

Jassim Al Marzouqi, CEO of Amroq, said that this memorandum represents a new milestone in the company’s journey towards expanding its capabilities and strengthening its partnerships with major international manufacturers in the aviation and defense sector, stressing that the cooperation with “Airbus Defense and Space” aims to develop advanced support solutions, enhance national capabilities in the aviation sector, and continue providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services in accordance with the highest international standards, in a way that meets the aspirations of customers and contributes to enhancing the readiness of their fleets.

Areas of cooperation include benefiting from technical and engineering expertise, training services, and global standards adopted by Airbus, in addition to exploring opportunities to manufacture some aircraft components, which contributes to strengthening the industrial system of the aviation sector in the UAE, and developing regional support solutions related to operational readiness, quality of services, and fleet sustainability.

The memorandum of understanding embodies the commitment of both sides to explore qualitative cooperation opportunities that contribute to improving the industrial capabilities of the aviation sector, enhancing the support services provided to regional operators, and consolidating the UAE’s position as a leading regional center for military aircraft maintenance, support and sustainment services.
