Dubai Press Club organizes "Mulathon Arab Media Summit" In cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council

DUBAI, 23rd July / WAM / The Dubai Press Club, in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, today organized the “Arab Media Summit Mallathon” event in Dubai Mall, with the participation of more than 350 media professionals, representatives of media institutions and outlets, content makers and influencers on social media platforms, with the aim of enhancing preparations for the launch of the Arab Media Summit 2026, introducing its objectives, and encouraging those interested in the future of media to register and participate.

The event was launched, within the “Dubai Mulathon” initiative, under the slogan “Arab Media Moves to the Summit,” in a symbolic indication of the approaching date of holding the largest media event of its kind in the Arab region, in an unconventional manner and within an interactive atmosphere that combined physical activity and professional communication, and contributed to creating more rapprochement between media professionals on a humanitarian level, away from the official professional atmosphere, as the Mulathon represented an opportunity to meet and get to know each other ahead of the summit scheduled to be held next September.

His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, appreciated the efforts made by the Dubai Press Club that reflect Dubai’s pioneering position and its role in advancing the development of Arab media, stressing his pride in the Council’s cooperation with the Club in organizing this event, and his appreciation for the Arab Media Summit and the important legacy it has dedicated that extends over more than 24 years of high-level specialized professional dialogue.

His Excellency said: “The Arab Media Summit Mulathon event is the result of an innovative idea that embodies the impact of sports as a means of enhancing communication and interaction between various segments of society, including media professionals and content creators. The event reflects Dubai’s approach to creating quality initiatives that combine physical activity and constructive communication, and support positive interaction that contributes to achieving the goals of a major media event that has left a clear impact on the form and content of Arab media.”

His Excellency added: “Dubai Mulathon is an innovative community platform that encourages the adoption of physical activity and making it a part of daily life, and at the same time provides a space for communication and interaction between members of society from different groups. Organizing specific events within this initiative, with the participation of various institutions and sectors, reinforces its message of making sport a way of life, and expands the scope of its societal impact, in line with Dubai’s trends in enhancing the quality of life.”

In turn, Maryam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, thanked the Dubai Sports Council for its exemplary cooperation in organizing this event, noting that the “Arab Media Summit” continues its mission during its next session as a strategic platform that brings together an elite group of decision makers, thought icons, media leaders, institutions and content makers, in a dialogue aimed at defining the sector’s priorities, anticipating the transformations that reshape its future, and building partnerships that support its ability to develop and influence.

She said: “The idea of the moolathon was inspired by Dubai’s approach to adopting an approach to competitiveness and excellence, and the constant pursuit of victory. These are authentic values in the Arab Media Summit, which has sought, since the launch of one of its most important components, the Arab Media Forum, more than 24 years ago, to be a driving force in the direction of development and raising the competitive capabilities of the media in our Arab world. The event brought together the participants in a simple and lively experience that expresses preparation and launch, and contributed to strengthening the media and digital momentum preceding the holding of the event that all concerned are anticipating. The event came within the framework of the Dubai Press Club’s keenness to prepare the media community for the new edition of the Arab Media Summit, through a symbolic activity that indicates the acceleration of efforts to prepare for the summit and the approaching date of its holding, and to motivate the media community to be ready to participate with ideas and visions that accelerate the pace of development of the sector and enhance its competitiveness.
