It seems that the great cinematic success of the movie “Samson and Delilah,” which brings together the two stars: Ahmed Al-Awadi and Mai Omar, in the summer movie season, and the audience’s interest in their duet together, and the artistic chemistry that emerged between them, prompted them to seriously think about presenting a joint dramatic work in the 2027 Ramadan drama season.

The two stars are still searching for a story that could potentially be presented in a 30-episode series, and at the same time they are working on their upcoming artistic projects. At a time when Mai Omar had not decided on choosing a specific dramatic project to participate in the Ramadan 2027 drama, Ahmed Al-Awadi chose the story of the series “Sultan El-Deeb.” To be presented in cooperation with writer Mahmoud Hamdan and director Mohamed Abdel Salam.

Scriptwriter Mahmoud Hamdan began writing the script for the episodes of the series, in which Mai Omar may participate as a female lead, if she liked the story and the role, after completing writing all the episodes of the series.

Through the series “Sultan El Deeb,” Ahmed Al-Awadi aims to build on the successes he achieved during the recent seasons, which established his position as one of the most prominent stars of “popular drama” in Ramadan.

In the past few days, Al-Awadi held intensive working sessions with scriptwriter Mahmoud Hamdan, who is writing the series, and director Mohamed Abdel Salam, to develop the broad dramatic lines of the work and settle on the features of the characters and events, in preparation for the start of the contracting phase with the rest of the series’ heroes, during the coming period.

The new cooperation in the series “Sultan Al-Deeb”, which tells the story of a “popular hero” in the Sayyida Zeinab region, who is subjected to injustice from his family, but he resists to regain his rights, and at the same time takes into account the interests of the people of his region, and restores their rights, is an extension of the artistic partnership between Ahmed Al-Awadi and screenwriter Mahmoud Hamdan, which has yielded a number of successful works. At a time when the makers of the series are betting on presenting a work that combines “social drama” and “suspense”, in line with the expected competition in the 2027 Ramadan season, as filming of the series is scheduled to begin next November.

The movie “Samson and Delilah,” which began showing in the first week of July, topped the revenues of movie theaters in Egypt.

Participating in the film’s starring role, alongside Ahmed Al-Awadi and Mai Omar, are: Essam Al-Sakka, Ahmed Essam Al-Sayed, Khaled Sarhan, Mahmoud Al-Bazawi, Intisar, Khaled Al-Sawy, Mohamed Tharwat, and Retal Abdel Aziz.
