"Abu Dhabi Heritage" Registration for the fifth season of the program opens "The reversible"

ABU DHABI, 28 July / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority announced the opening of registration for those wishing to participate in the fifth season of the “Al-Mankos” television program, from today until the 27th of next August, continuing its efforts in preserving the cultural heritage and enhancing its presence among generations through the program specializing in the “Mankos” melody, one of the most prominent melodies of Nabati poetry.

The program aims to discover those with distinguished voices in performing the Mankos melody, and to provide them with the opportunity to compete on a television platform that celebrates this heritage art, which contributes to strengthening the generations’ connection to their cultural identity, completing the journey of the fathers, and consolidating the children’s pride in their heritage and passing it on to future generations.

The Authority required those wishing to participate to register via the program’s website (www.almankous.ae) and fill out the registration form, provided that the contestant’s age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 50 years, and to attach a video clip of between 30 seconds and one minute, which includes a clear performance of the reversed melody without any sound effects.

The “Al-Mankos” program is the first of its kind specializing in the “Mankos” melody, one of the melodies of Nabati poetry, and is produced by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority as part of its efforts to introduce and preserve popular heritage, enhance its presence in societal awareness, and consolidate its role in preserving national identity.

The fourth season witnessed a strong competition between 18 contestants from the Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait, which resulted in Rashid Al Jumian Al Marri from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia being crowned with the title of “Knight of the Reversed,” while Hamad bin Mugheetha Al Hajri from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia came in second place, and Theeb Saleh Al Marri from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia came third, Saeed Ali Al Marri from the State of Qatar fourth, Sayyad Muhammad Al Yami from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia fifth, and Abdul Hadi Al Humaidan Al Marri from the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia Sixth.

The “Mankos” program continues to fulfill its cultural mission of introducing the authentic Mankos melody, building bridges of communication between the pioneer generation and the youth, and preserving the cultural heritage, in addition to highlighting the methods of performing this artistic form, and introducing its most prominent symbols in the Gulf region.

During its four seasons, 72 contestants competed for the title of “Knight of the Mangos,” and the program also contributed to discovering and highlighting promising Gulf talents in this authentic art.

Previously, Mohammed Hussein Al Rashidi from the Sultanate of Oman was crowned the title of “Knight of the Mangos” in the third season, and in the second season Abdullah Fahd Al Sakhabra from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while Hamdan Al Mansouri from the UAE won the title of the first season.
