المملكة: 11 topics are on the discussion table at the International Forum on Afforestation Technologies today

Today, the dialogue sessions begin within the International Afforestation Technology Exhibition and Forum 2024, organized by the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification.
This coincides with the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (16COP), during the period from 2 to 13 December in Riyadh, amid a wide demand from visitors and local and international bodies to participate and attend the activities of the International Forum on Afforestation Technologies held in Riyadh on its third day.
An elite group of specialists, experts and decision-makers from around the world, and more than 50 local and international speakers, participate in the dialogue sessions of the forum in its second edition, which lasts for three days. To exchange knowledge about afforestation techniques and their importance.

Vegetation development

In addition to transferring international expertise and experiences, presenting innovative visions for the future of green technology, exploring practical and effective solutions that support the sustainability of environmental systems, and highlighting the importance of collective action to confront pressing issues such as desertification and protecting natural resources.
The International Forum for Afforestation Technologies represents a vital platform for exchanging experiences between experts and decision makers, which enhances mutual understanding and cooperation and allows the convergence of different environmental cultures. It also opens broad environmental, economic and cognitive horizons that enable the Kingdom to reach the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative.

During the sessions, the forum discusses 11 main topics, including: pioneering initiatives in afforestation and vegetation development, factors for the success and sustainability of afforestation, sustainable water management in afforestation projects, the use of modern technologies in afforestation, monitoring and management, green belts and afforestation of roads, railways and urban areas, and reducing desertification. Investment, environmental, economic and social returns, the contribution of organizations to afforestation projects, and the most prominent international experiences.
The International Afforestation Technologies Exhibition and Forum 2024 aims to highlight the Kingdom’s pioneering role in developing vegetation and combating desertification, by reviewing the latest technologies and initiatives in this field, promoting investment in innovative solutions and supporting partnerships between the governmental, private and non-profit sectors, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. .
