“Hasyan” produces 180 million gallons of water per day

Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, inspected the progress of work in the first phase of the seawater desalination plant project using reverse osmosis technology in the Hassyan complex, with a production capacity of 180 million gallons per day. Al Tayer listened to the progress made in the project from officials of Hassyan Water Company A, which reached about 40.6%, as the project is expected to be completed in 2027. The project comes within the framework of Dubai Electricity’s strategy to increase the production capacity of water desalination in Dubai. This project is the largest project in the world to produce water based on seawater reverse osmosis technology, and the Authority’s first project with the independent water producer system, with investments amounting to three billion and 377 million dirhams.
