المملكة: The Minister of Health signs 24 agreements during his official visit to China

Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel concluded his official visit to the People’s Republic of China, which included the cities of Shenzhen and Beijing, with the aim of strengthening health cooperation and bilateral ties between the two countries, during which he met with leaders of the most prominent Chinese companies and discussed with them opportunities to enhance cooperation in the health field.
During the visit, 24 agreements were signed, in the presence of about 450 investors.
At the beginning of his visit to Shenzhen, he visited Huawei, BGE, Shenzhen New Industries Biomedical Engineering Co., Ltd., and Mindray, and was briefed on the latest electronic systems used in them.
He also listened to a presentation on the services provided, their working mechanism, in addition to the best practices followed in employing technology in the health field.

Signing a memorandum of understanding

The Minister of Health in Beijing met with his counterpart, Minister of the National Health Commission of China, Li Haichao. During the meeting, opportunities for joint cooperation in the fields of health were discussed. During the meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in various health sectors.
Al-Jalajel expressed his appreciation for the invitation extended to him by his Chinese counterpart, praising the great progress achieved in both China and the Kingdom in the fields of health, technology, science, education and innovation.
He stressed the historical relationship between the two countries and the importance of continuing to develop fruitful cooperation in the health field, indicating the depth of the historical relations between the two countries, and the importance of developing health cooperation that benefits the health of the individual and society.

Individual and community health

Al-Jalajel said: “It gives me great pleasure to visit the People’s Republic of China to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of health that are based on the health of the individual and society, as health is the basis of the well-being of nations and sustainable development.”
He praised the success of the World Congress on Traditional Medicine 2024, which brought together leaders from 85 countries with the aim of promoting innovation in the field of traditional health care.

Cooperation in vital sectors

The conference was held under the patronage of Chinese President Xi Jinping in cooperation with the World Health Organization, the National Health Commission of China, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Beijing Municipal Government.
The Saudi-Chinese Joint Business Council Forum was also held in Beijing, in the presence of the Minister of Health, and the forum focused on enhancing economic cooperation in vital sectors, highlighting health care, biotechnology, and foreign and private investments, in a way that supports the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

25 Saudi investors

The forum witnessed the attendance of 25 Saudi investors and 30 Chinese investors, with the aim of strengthening trade and investment relations in the health sector.
The visit program in Beijing included a visit to WeDrive, where Al-Jalajel listened to an explanation of the services provided, and also tried out a number of the company’s self-driving products, such as taxis and buses.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Minister met with the Saudi students on scholarship in Beijing, listened to their academic experiences and expressed his pride in their distinguished achievements.
He praised their prominent role in promoting cultural and scientific understanding between the Kingdom and the People’s Republic of China, describing them as distinguished ambassadors for their homeland.
