Traditional and contemporary spiritual works at the Republic Theater

Based on Egyptian culture’s belief in the importance of spreading the spiritual singing heritage, the Opera House, headed by Dr. Lamia Zayed, will hold a concert for the religious singing group led by Maestro Omar Farhat at eight in the evening, Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Republic Theater.

The program includes a group of religious songs, supplications, and lyrical works that address the conscience and were composed by major composers and from the heritage of them, O Bare’. The Universe – Because the Lord forgives you by Marsa Hariri, I say to my nation – My Lord by Baligh Hamdi, O soul of my repentance by Abdel Moneim Hariri, my Lord, Glory be to You always – God of the Universe by Riad Al-Sunbati, God has fulfilled our goals of the Sufi heritage, greet me on the guide by Abbas Al-Deeb Take My Hands by Abdel Moneim Al-Baroudi, Oh the Beautiful Prayer by Zakaria Ahmed, music The Mawlid by Ahmed Fouad Hassan, Two Thousand Prayers for the Prophet by Abdel Azim Abdel Haq, Ibtihal for Everyone Who Understands About Me What I Say by Sheikh Muhammad Al-Helbawy, Mother of the Prophet by Jamal Salama, and The Most Beautiful Names of God by Sayyid Makkawi, and from contemporary works, Ilzam al-Bab by Ahmed Abdullah, may God’s prayers Ali Al-Hadi by Hossam Saqr, Be with God by Mohamed Rashad… performed by Mohamed Abdel Hamid, Tamer Najah, Taha Hussein, Heba Adel, Ahmed Nafi, Hossam Saqr, Wael Siraj, Omnia Samir, and preparation and memorization by Hossam Saqr.

 

It is worth noting that the religious singing group was founded by the late musician Abdel Halim Nouira in 1972, and began its first Her concerts under his leadership in 1973 were aimed at preserving the religious singing heritage. She specialized in presenting religious works and melodies and fostering and training promising young voices in singing. Performing songs, in addition to participating in the revival of all religious occasions throughout the year in the various theaters of the Opera House in Cairo, Alexandria, and Damanhour.
