Saqr Ghobash and President "Egyptian sheikhs" They discuss bilateral parliamentary cooperation
Abu Dhabi, December 10 / WAM / His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, discussed with His Excellency Counselor Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek, President of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt, aspects of existing cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Egypt in various fields, in order to achieve the vision of the leadership of the two countries. The aspirations of the two peoples and reflects the deep-rooted relations of brotherhood and cooperation that were established more than five decades ago.
During the meeting held today at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency the Speaker of the Federal National Council and His Excellency the Speaker of the Egyptian Shura Council signed a memorandum of understanding, in which they emphasized the common interests between the two councils in promoting and strengthening bilateral relations between the two parties, exchanging parliamentary knowledge experiences between the two sides, and enhancing coordination. Consultation and exchange of opinions on issues of common interest, and holding bilateral parliamentary meetings with the aim of parliamentary coordination during participation in regional and international parliamentary activities such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and the importance of exchanging information and parliamentary experiences.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sultan Salem Al Zaabi, Hashima Yasser Al Afari, Salem Rashid Al Maftool, Hilal Al Kaabi, and Aisha Al Dhanhani, members of the Federal National Council, Dr. Omar Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Council, Afra Rashid Al Basti, Assistant Secretary General for Parliamentary Communication, and Tariq Ahmed Al Marzouqi, Secretary. Assistant General for Council Presidency Affairs, and His Excellency Sherif Issa, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the country.
The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the two brotherly countries and coordinating positions on issues of common interest. They praised the high level reached by the historical Emirati-Egyptian relations in various fields, and their joint coordination on current issues in the region and crucial issues for the Arab nation.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash welcomed the Chairman of the Egyptian Shura Council and his accompanying delegation, and said that the United Arab Emirates and the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt enjoy distinguished relations built on strong foundations of history and common interests, established by the late founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. May God bless his soul, and its bonds have been strengthened under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him. God, and his brother, His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, stressing that the Arab Republic of Egypt is a fundamental weight and pillar of Arab national security, and explaining that these relations are a model to be followed in Arab relations and sincere fraternal solidarity.
For his part, His Excellency the President of the Egyptian Senate stressed the depth of the relations between his country and the UAE, which are built on trust and respect, and which are based on the bonds of common history and unified goals and visions. This relationship has taken root over the past decades, thanks to the diligent follow-up and sound directives of the wise leadership in the two brotherly countries.
He pointed out that the bilateral relations between the two countries represent a prominent regional model in close bilateral relations, stressing the importance of developing parliamentary relations, as they reflect on the growth and development of bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
