239 thousand deaths due to air pollution were recorded in Europe.. What is happening?
In its latest assessment of the impact of air quality on health, which it published on Tuesday, the European Environment Agency announced that it recorded 239,000 deaths that can be attributed to exposure to fine particles filling the air.
The European Environment Agency explained that, based on 2022 figures, 70,000 deaths are due to ozone pollution and 48,000 are due to pollution caused by nitrogen dioxide.
The Copenhagen-based agency said: “The latest data reaffirms that Europeans are still exposed to concentrations of air pollutants significantly higher than the levels recommended by the World Health Organization.”

Air pollution damage
The European Environment Ministry warned of the repercussions on European ecosystems and said that “a separate assessment also found that about three-quarters of Europe’s ecosystems are exposed to harmful levels of air pollution.”
On the other hand, the Earth’s temperature last November recorded the second highest temperature in this month of any year, since temperature records began, according to the Copernicus Center for Climate Change.
If the impossible does not happen, the Earth’s temperature during the current year as a whole will be higher than 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to the record climate level for the first time.
