She explained "Communications" The plan to provide frequencies to enable defense and security applications aims to raise the efficiency of using the frequency spectrum to support modern defense and security technologies and applications in the Kingdom, and to improve the governance of frequency spectrum management for government agencies in accordance with the National Plan for the Frequency Spectrum, in addition to enabling the operational requirements of those agencies and meeting their need for frequency spectrum.

Clear regulatory frameworks

The Authority pointed out that the plan focuses on analyzing the current uses of the frequency spectrum for defense and security applications, and addressing the challenges associated with its management, in addition to identifying Priority bands, enabling modern technologies in the fields of drones, radars, monitoring and sensing technologies, satellite communications, and international mobile communications fields in defense and security applications.
She indicated that the plan includes developing mechanisms to redistribute and share frequency bands to enhance government and civil uses, in addition to establishing clear regulatory frameworks and integrated coordination between relevant authorities, and improving the governance of frequency spectrum management by strengthening the role of the National Spectrum Coordination Committee (NSCC), and following up on the outcomes of the World Telecommunications Conference. Radio (WRC-27) to ensure alignment of national trends with global developments in the field of frequency spectrum management.

Thamer bin Khamis, Director General of Frequency Spectrum Allocation at the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, Eng. Ayman Maghribi, while it was moderated by the Director of the Frequency Department at the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, Eng. Omar Al Salek.
The Authority’s participation in the third edition of the World Defense Exhibition comes within its regulatory and enabling roles that enhance the management of the frequency spectrum and raise the efficiency of its uses to support vital sectors and uses in the Kingdom in keeping pace with global developments, and enhance the ability of those sectors to adopt modern technologies.
