The Film Commission is organizing a workshop in Al-Ahsa to teach screenwriting tomorrow

An in-person workshop entitled “Screenwriting: From Idea to Script,” organized by the Film Authority, will start tomorrow, Sunday, in the city of Al-Ahsa.
The workshop, which will continue until the nineteenth of December, aims to train twenty filmmaker participants on the mechanics of screenwriting and transforming creative ideas into fully-fledged cinematic scripts.
The workshop is presented by Egyptian writer and film producer Haitham Dabour.

Workshop topics

The workshop includes a set of topics that include the basics of screenwriting, mechanisms for developing ideas into cinematic scripts ready for production, building a narrative plot, and developing main and secondary characters to serve the story.
In addition to writing scenes and dialogue in a way that suits the nature of the characters and events, the workshop gives participants the opportunity to learn how to prepare marketing files that help present scenarios to production companies and filmmakers.

Film Commission initiatives

This workshop is one of the initiatives offered by the Film Authority as part of its efforts to develop the skills of national competencies in the field of cinematography.
As well as enhancing their capabilities to achieve a strong presence in the industry at the local and international levels, in line with the goals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to support national creativity and empower local talent in various sectors.
