"UAE Division" Participates in the general session of the Arab Parliament in Cairo

Cairo, December 14 / WAM / Members of the Parliamentary Division Group of the Federal National Council in the Arab Parliament participated in the second session of the first session of the fourth legislative term of the Arab Parliament, headed by His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament and Chairman of the UAE Parliamentary Division Group, which was held today. At the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.

The UAE Parliamentary Division Group includes His Excellency Namah Abdullah Al Sharhan, Vice-Chairman of the Group, Member of the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee, Majid Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Member of the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee, and Mohammed Hassan Al Dhahouri, Member of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee.

In his speech while chairing the session of the Arab Parliament, His Excellency Muhammad Al-Yamahi stressed the necessity of intensifying the Arab presence in dealing with the existing crises in the Arab region, and the Arab Parliament’s support for all Arab efforts led by the League of Arab States in dealing with the crises facing the Arab world.

Her Excellency Naima Al-Sharhan said that the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee presented its work plan during the session, which included the topics discussed by the committee, most notably the topic of enhancing job and volunteer opportunities for the elderly in the Arab region.

His Excellency Majid Al Mazrouei said that the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee submitted its report, which dealt with a draft Arab guideline law on combating the phenomenon of illegal immigration in the Arab world, and the Arab vision for protecting religious symbols and beliefs and prohibiting abuse of them in the Arab world.

His Excellency Muhammad Al-Dhahouri explained that the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee reviewed its report, which included its work plan for the first session, the members’ contribution to the Arab Parliament’s budget for the year 2024, a proposal to strengthen coordination and cooperation relations with a number of organizations and economic entities, and a draft Arab strategy to support the blue economy in the Arab countries.
