The UAE participates in the 113th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Arab Energy Organization

Kuwait, December 15 / WAM / The UAE participated in the 113th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Arab Energy Organization (AEO), which was held today in the State of Kuwait, with the participation of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Oil and Energy of the member states.

The UAE delegation was headed by His Excellency Engineer Sherif Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, in the presence of His Excellency Engineer Saif Ghobash, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for the Petroleum, Gas and Mineral Resources Sector.

During the meeting of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), the ministerial decision was approved regarding the project to develop and restructure the organization’s work, and its name was changed to the “Arab Energy Organization (AEO).”

A number of important items on the agenda were also discussed, most notably the organization’s draft budget for the year 2025, in addition to the systems and laws that govern its work in a way that is compatible with the challenges and new developments in the field of energy, and other topics that serve the future stage.

His Excellency Sherif Al Olama said that our meeting today reflects the commitment of the Arab Energy Organization countries to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination in the field of energy, noting that these meetings represent a vital platform for exchanging visions and experiences between member states, and provide the opportunity to discuss the current and future challenges facing the energy sector, especially in light of Global economic and geopolitical variables, which are an additional step in strengthening joint Arab action in the energy sector, as well as establishing a future phase that is compatible with the visions and directions of our Arab countries.

His Excellency added that the countries of the organization are working in a spirit of partnership and integration to enhance the role of energy, with a focus on innovation and resource sustainability to ensure a better future for future generations, which confirms the commitment to developing policies that enhance the stability of the energy market and contribute to achieving the interests of member states and international partners. He expressed his aspirations to Constructive outcomes that contribute to achieving the aspirations of our people and enhance our region’s position on the global map.

His Excellency stressed that the UAE is open to cooperation with all member states and international partners to enhance the sustainability of the energy sector and achieve balance in global markets, and that we believe in joint work and innovative initiatives are the key to achieving stability and sustainable growth, in a way that meets the aspirations of our people and enhances our region’s position as a fundamental pillar in global energy security.
