On its first day… 5 creative stations open the Riyadh Theater Festival

The activities of the Riyadh Theater Festival began in its second edition amidst an impressive cultural atmosphere, as audiences flocked to the Creativity Theater to follow rich activities and theatrical performances in which artistic visions blended with stories on stage.

Training workshop

The festival began its activities with a distinguished training workshop titled “Shaping the Vision: Developing the Directing Concept,” presented by director and trainer Abdullah Al-Jafal.
The workshop included practical exercises that enhance directors’ flexibility and vitality, in addition to reviewing the history of the directorial vision from Roman times to contemporary practices.
Al-Jafal also discussed the role of imagination in shaping the theatrical vision, citing the experiences of Major Ahmed Al-Sibai, who was ahead of his time in his artistic visions and openness to cultures.

The play “The Stage Keeper”

On stage, the play “The Theater Guard” sparkled in a performance full of human feelings, telling the story of “Karima”, a former actress who became a keeper of her old theater.
The plot was emotional and poignant, reflecting a person’s adherence to his dreams despite the vicissitudes of life and the challenges of time.

A critical reading of the play “Falling from a Warm Text” was also held, which dealt with a symbolic journey about a lost “word” searching for a return to its original text, in a remarkable literary treatment that questioned the fate of words in the face of the writer and censorship.

First day activities

The first day of the festival was a bright platform that brought together applied workshops, inspiring artistic performances, and in-depth critical dialogues. The liveliness of the stage and the spirit of creativity added a cultural glow to the festival, heralding days to come filled with artistic experiences that will inspire theater lovers and be engraved in the memories of lovers of fine art.
