The Sharjah Chamber discusses industrial cooperation with its Indian counterpart

Sharjah, December 17 / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed ways to expand the horizons of cooperation in the industrial sector with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as part of the Sharjah Chamber’s ongoing efforts to enhance economic cooperation with promising markets.
This came during the meeting held today at the headquarters of the Sharjah Chamber with a delegation from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Ali Al Jari, Director of the Sharjah Export Development Center, and Heba Al Marzouqi, Head of the Business Councils and Joint Committees Department at the Chamber, where ways of enhancing cooperation in the industrial sector, exchanging experiences and knowledge, and reviewing investment opportunities were discussed. The Sharjah Chamber highlighted the services it provides to investors, which include providing the information and support necessary to establish businesses and facilitating access to local and regional markets, in addition to organizing events and forums that aim to enhance communication between the business community in Sharjah and its counterparts in India.
The Sharjah Chamber affirmed its keenness to expand and strengthen relations with the business community in India, especially in the industrial sector, within the framework of interest in investing in this sector, which is witnessing rapid growth in the Emirate of Sharjah, as Sharjah hosts about 35% of the factories in the country, making it an important industrial center in the UAE. .
The meeting reviewed the latest figures and indicators related to the industrial sector in the Emirate of Sharjah, including the emirate recording about $18.9 million in capital expenditures for foreign direct investment in the manufacturing sector last year 2023, an indicator that reflects the confidence of foreign investors in the promising capabilities and opportunities provided by the emirate. The industrial sector is also considered the second largest. It contributes to the gross domestic product of the Emirate of Sharjah, amounting to 16.7%.
For its part, the Indian delegation stressed the importance of communication and cooperation between the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry as an important step added to the overall efforts aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the business communities and industrialists in Sharjah and India to develop the industrial sector through exchanging experiences and encouraging joint projects in a way that achieves benefit.
