المملكة: Kingdom’s weather: the cold wave continues and light to moderate rain

The National Center of Meteorology, in its weather report today, Thursday, for the regions of the Kingdom, expects cold to very cold weather in parts of the north of the Kingdom.
While the opportunity is ripe for light to moderate thunderstorms accompanied by hail showers and active winds stirring up dust and dust in parts of the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Medina, Hail, the northern borders, and Al-Jawf.
Also in parts of the Tabuk region, it is not unlikely that light snow will fall during the night on parts of its highlands (Jabal al-Lawz – Alqan – Al-Dhahr).
The opportunity will also be ripe for fog to form over parts of those areas, as well as over parts of the Asir and Al-Baha regions, and the southern parts of the Eastern Province.

Red Sea

Surface winds: northwesterly to northerly at a speed of 15-35 km/h in the northern and central parts.
Southeasterly to southerly at a speed of 15-35 km/h, reaching a speed of 50 km/h, with rainy thunderclouds forming over the southern part.

Wave height: from half a meter to one and a half metres, reaching more than two and a half metres, with the formation of rainy thunderclouds.

Sea condition: Light to medium waves reaching wavy, with the formation of rain thunderstorm clouds.

Arabian Gulf

Surface winds: northwesterly at a speed of 20-40 km/h.

Wave height: from one to two metres.

Sea state: moderate waves.

Light fog

In its weather report, the National Center of Meteorology warned of light fog over parts of the Eastern and Makkah regions in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The phenomenon begins at 1 am and continues until 8 am.

The alert includes several areas in the Eastern Province, Shuaiba, Al-Layth, Al-Qunfudhah and Jeddah in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
The associated effects are reduced horizontal visibility (3-5) kilometers.

3 degrees below zero

The center also warned of a cold wave in the northern border and Al-Jawf regions, starting at 1 a.m. and continuing until 9 a.m. Thursday.

The alert includes Turaif, Al-Awiqila, Rafha, Hazm Al-Jalamid and Arar on the northern border, and Al-Qurayyat and Tabarjal in Al-Jawf.
The accompanying effects are a drop in temperatures from 0 to 3 degrees Celsius below zero.
