Putin threatens Kyiv with destruction… a war of marches erupts between Russia and Ukraine
Moscow accused Kiev of being behind Saturday’s attack, which hit a high-rise building in the city located about 1,000 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border.
Video footage spread on social media platforms showed at least one drone crashing into the luxurious glass building, causing a huge fireball to erupt.
The Russian authorities did not announce any casualties as a result of the accident.
Increasing air attacks
“Whoever and no matter how much they try to destroy, they will face double destruction, and they will regret what they are trying to do in our country,” Putin said in a televised speech on Sunday.
Putin was speaking to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, where Kazan is located, via video communication technology during the inauguration ceremony of a road.
The strike on Kazan was the latest in a series of escalating air attacks in the war between Russia and Ukraine, which is approaching the completion of its third year.
