A specialized medical team at King Abdullah Medical City, a member of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster, succeeded in performing a delicate surgery to remove a tumor the size of a fetus (30 x 15 cm) from a Saudi woman in her thirties.

The group explained that the patient was suffering from great stress as a result of the tumor, which affected the abdominal aorta and the inferior vena cava, causing partial obstruction of the digestive system and chronic constipation, in addition to pressure on the urinary bladder and nerves, which led to pain and numbness in the lower extremities.

Laboratory tests

The statement added that the operation was carried out after conducting laboratory tests and careful imaging, in addition to a comprehensive evaluation by the anesthesia department to ensure medical safety standards. The tumor was completely removed through open laparotomy while preserving the uterus and ovaries.
