Her Highness, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, said that the arts constitute a common language of communication and understanding between societies, and the art of sculpture is one of the most important arts and one of the most capable of embodying beauty and expressing creative ideas, and it contributes to highlighting the uniqueness of Dubai, its cultural and civilizational heritage, and its unique capabilities and opportunities. In addition to his ability to transform the emirate’s neighborhoods, squares, and public squares into distinguished tourist and cultural destinations, thanks to the innovative works and sculptures he presents, capable of creating an interactive and inspiring dialogue between artists. Her Highness noted the value of the forum, which forms part of the strategy for art in public places, reflects the future of creativity in Dubai, and contributes to spreading the culture of innovation and enhancing the strength of cultural tourism in the emirate.

Her Highness added that Dubai continues, through its innovative activities and projects, to demonstrate the capabilities of the artistic sector and enhance its presence on the global map. Through this forum, which is being held for the first time in Dubai, it was able to create an inspiring environment for sculpture creators in the UAE, and enable them to express their viewpoints and intellectual stock. Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum toured the forum, during which she viewed the participating sculptures and artworks. Her Highness also met with the artists participating in the “Dubai Sculpture Forum 2024,” which was held under the supervision of the Jordanian curator Kamal Al-Zoubi, and the Omani curator Dr. Ali Al-Jabri. Her Highness praised the quality and ideas of the artistic works that bear the fingerprints of more than 15 sculptors from across the world. During the Dubai Sculpture Forum, participants presented a wide range of inspiring sculptures and artworks, the most prominent of which was the work “Shells” by the Emirati artist Dr. Mohammed Yousef, President of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, through which he tells the story of Dubai, its essence and aesthetics, while the Emirati artist Azza Al Qubaisi discussed through The sculpture “Heart of Dubai” (Between the Lines Series) details local culture, traditions, identity, and the rapid development witnessed by the country, while the Syrian artist Aktham Abd expressed Al-Hamid, in his work “Cultural Accumulation,” talks about the accumulation of human expertise and experiences over the years, leading up to the era of technology and artificial intelligence.
The sculpture “Starry Sky in Dubai” by Chinese artist Liu Yang represented a new style of sculpture, making Dubai the 41st city in the world to host one of Yang’s artistic works.

Romanian artist Anna Maria Negara participated in the recipient with a “Fractal” sculpture inspired by the geometric balance that characterizes architecture in Dubai, embodying the concept of harmony between individual elements and the whole.
The forum included the “Harmonious Relationships” sculpture, created by the Spanish artist Jose Milan, to express the beauty of human relationships and the importance of communication and unity.

As for the Ukrainian artist Lyudmila Mysko, she displayed a series of huge sculptures titled “The Magnetic Maker” that combine physical form and air space. The Saudi artist Mohammed Al-Thaqafi also created his artistic work “Dialogue” and expressed through it the societies’ quest to achieve harmony and mutual understanding among themselves.
Through his sculpture “The Fountain”, the Georgian artist John Gogabrishvili depicts the movement of water droplets and the interplay between their shapes, and the Tunisian artist Mohamed Bouaziz, in his artistic work “Our Land”, embodied the concept of interconnection and the essence of life and continuous movement, while the Italian artist Stefano Spitta was inspired by his work “Flowing Coral” from coral reefs. , neurons, and genetic codes, to express the dynamics of movement and interactions taking place in the city of Dubai.
For his part, Tunisian artist Mohamed Sahnoun presented his artistic work “Moon”, which is a large circle of white Omani marble representing the full moon, and with movement it turns into a crescent, while the Arabic calligraphy in the work reflects the uniqueness of the Arab-Islamic identity.

The “City Gate” sculpture by the Egyptian artist Saeed Badr consists of two vertical blocks facing each other, separated by a permeable space, and embodies a symbol of a city gate carrying on its surface messages linking the past, the present, and the future, while the Polish artist Viktor Kopacz, through his “Thirst for Life” sculpture, reflects the idea that the best exists. It is always within us, and through striving new ideas emerge that lead us to positive changes in our lives.
It is noteworthy that the forum was organized by the Al Jalila Center for Children’s Culture, in partnership with Al Shindagha Museum, the largest heritage museum in the Emirates, the “Sikka” platform, the Dubai Municipality, the Dubai Police General Headquarters, the Dubai Ambulance, the General Administration of Civil Defense in Dubai, Dubai Customs, and the International Center for Arts.
