The UAE wins 12 medals in the final "Seventh regional" Show jumping in Doha

Doha, April 19 / WAM / UAE show jumping riders won 12 medals – 6 gold, 5 silver, and a bronze – in the team and individual competitions, in the final of the 7th Regional Group Championship of the International Equestrian Federation in the Qatari capital, Doha.

The UAE champions presented distinguished competitive levels in the tournament that concluded yesterday, at the Longines Arena in Al Shaqab, in the categories of cubs, juniors and youth, after qualifying through the 2025-2026 equestrian season, in addition to the newly created under-25 category, with the participation of more than 100 male and female riders representing the countries of the region, with a total of prizes amounting to 318 thousand euros.

The UAE Knights won the team title in the junior championship at a height of 120 cm, with a team consisting of Alia Adnan Al Muhairi, Abdullah Omran Al Owais, Ali Mufarrej Al Karbi, and Muhammad Majid Al Awani.

They also won the team title in the youth category at a height of 130 cm, with a list that included knights Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Marwan Yousef Al Mahmoudi, Hamad Al Nuaimi, and Abdullah Hamad Al Karbi, and silver in the team championship for the children’s category, with the participation of knights Hassan Majid Al Awani, Muhammad Al Owais, Bakhit Muhammad, and Khaled Al Muhairi.

Equestrian Omar Abdulaziz Al Marzouqi won the title of the Grand Prix race for riders under 25 years of age at a height of 145 cm, achieving 50.67 seconds on the back of “Billy Martini”. Second place was won by his colleague Abdullah Hamad Al Karbi, with “Quantino”, and the Saudi Abdulaziz Fahd Al Eid, with “Q-Lin”, came third.

The Emirati riders won first place in the newly created tournament at a height of 140 cm, with the gold of the rider Saif Awaidah Al-Karbi, the silver of Mohammed Hamad Al-Karbi, and the bronze of Omar Abdulaziz Al-Marzouqi.

The results of the riders were also outstanding in the individual category, with first and second place in the junior category, with gold by the rider, Saleh Mufarrej Al-Karbi, and silver by Mohammed Saeed Al-Ghurair, then an individual title in the cubs category at a height of 115 cm, with gold and silver won by the riders Hassan Majed Al-Awani and Khaled Al-Muhairi, leading to gold and silver for the riders, Hassan Majed Al-Awani, and Khaled Al-Muhairi, in the children’s category.

The winners were crowned by His Excellency Sultan Muhammad Al Yahyai, ​​President of the Seventh Regional Group of the International Equestrian Federation, Sheikh Talal bin Khalid Al Thani, Director of the Championship, and Zaid Abu Zaid, President of the Syrian Arab Equestrian Federation.

Coach Hamad Al-Karbi praised the honorable results of the UAE champions in the final of the tournament in the Qatari capital, Doha, for the second year in a row, which embodies the value of development of this sport, and the promising elements in all age groups.

He said that he was keen to monitor the levels of riders during the past local championships, in preparation for selecting the list to participate in the tournament, explaining that the UAE gathers a large number of male and female riders, with the best competitive levels, to win titles in foreign championships, which puts them in front of a promising future, with the support and care of the wise leadership.
