Record rise in European arms exports in 2023

Brussels, December 24 / WAM / European arms exports witnessed a record rise in 2023, as European Union countries granted export licenses with a total value exceeding 300 billion euros, an increase of 70% compared to 2022.

According to the latest report issued by the European Union published in Brussels, France topped the list of the largest arms exporters to the European Union with more than 235 billion euros, or about 75% of total European exports. Spain came in second place, then Germany, Poland and Italy.
