Opera Arts Club presents The Nutcracker in Damanhour
As part of the various activities of the Ministry of Culture, the Egyptian Opera House, headed by Dr. Lamia Zayed, is holding, as part of its cultural and intellectual activities, a meeting for the Opera Arts Club. It is hosted by Dr. Sameh Saber, a full-time professor and former dean of the Higher Institute of Art Criticism at the Academy of Arts, and the artistic director of the Talent Development Center at the Egyptian Opera House currently, and it is managed by Dr. Mohamed. Hosni, the music composer and singing coach at the Opera House and the Library of Alexandria, prepared by the visual artist Iman Makkawi, at eleven in the morning on Monday 30 December at the Damanhour Opera Theater.
The meeting includes a recorded performance of Russian author Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece The Nutcracker for the Cairo Opera Ballet, in addition to an analysis and discussion of the aesthetics of its artistic elements and the reasons for its global success.
